Earth Care kit
Council’s Earth Care Kit is a one-stop information kit, providing education on environmental issues and practical ways the community can care for the environment in their everyday lives.
Council, in partnership with local resident Sylvia Besseling, developed the Earth Care Kit to provide free information on natural resources and practical advice on caring for our local environment.
The Earth Care kit is free and provides advice on how the community can:
- Improve soil structure and fertility
- Improve the efficiency of water use
- Protect waterways
- Improve lawn care practices
- Create a no-dig and water efficient garden
- Recycle and reuse valuable garden green waste
- Composting fruit and vegetable scraps without smells and attracting vermin
- Better understand salinity, its causes, effects and how to control it
